An evening of chips and chat with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation.

Joseph Rowntree set up his foundation over 100 years ago because he wanted to address social problems such as gambling, slavery and poverty.
Today the research continues looking at what in todays society is recognised as social evils.

On Wednesday evening a discussion group took place with participants of the Grove history project putting forward their views of social evils of today and how that compared to those of the past. Researcher Nicky Cleghorn says" It was a pleasure to meet the young people and hear their views. They were enthusiastic, had lots of ideas and had a good discussion about what they thought the social evils of today were. Overall they made a really valued contribution to our research"
