A ghost walk around Chatham DockyardThe tour around the Dockyard took in all aspects of the history of the site. Stories of ghostly sailors, servants, ropemakers and even horses. We were told of sightings and sounds with a final atmospheric experienceHere are some interesting ghostly tales:- Pluckley, near to Ashford in Kent, is reputed to be the most haunted village in England. Legend has it that a headless ghost of infamous highwayman Dick Turpin rides his horse, Black Bess along Shooters Hill in Welling Kent. Bluebell Hill near Maidstone in Kent is has been the site of a number of ghostly sitings. Usually involving motorists believing that they have run someone over, only to discover that this is not the case. There has been much speculation about this with many believing that the ghost is of someone killed in the area in a road traffic accident. |
